See Inside The UK’s First Pop Up Café For Pugs Open In Guildford
We've seen cereal, cats and one that sells only crisps; the latest Pop Up Cafe is solely for pugs and has opened it’s doors in Guildford.

The Pop Up Pug Cafe was launched on May 21st 2017 at Esquires Coffee Shop in Guildford Town Centre and has been called “the event of the century and the most important date in every pug's social calendar!”
The Pug Cafe's founder, Anushka says that she started a Pug Meet Up in Guildford’s Stoke Park about 6 months ago as a way to socialise with other pug lovers and owners in the area. After having such a large turn out, the idea for the UK’s first ever Pop Up Pug Cafe came from there.
Due to the power of social media and articles across the local and national press, what started as a Surrey-centric event with 100 attendees soon grew to a viral hit and the Facebook event had over 2,000 listed as attending.
In the end, Anushka had booked in 290 people and 130 pugs across the day; contrary to popular belief you didn’t need a pug to attend!
A Dog Friendly Cafe In Guildford
The Guildford Pop Up Pug Cafe had some very thoughtful touches including pug artwork from local artists and bunting using polaroid photographs of every pug that was set to attend.
The team at Esquire's Cafe had produced an organic dog friendly menu which included bark-scotti, 'woofins', cake pops and 'pug cakes'. Each pug that attended had a personalised ‘pugaccino’ with their name on which seemed to go down a treat.
When is the next Pop Up Pug Cafe?
When asked whether we may see another Pop Up Pug Cafe opening in Guildford, Anushka says that she is waiting to see the success of today's event but she'll definitely keep organising pug meet ups here in Surrey.
Since the Guildford Pug Cafe’s success, Anushka has held Pop Up Pug Cafe’s across the UK including Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham and the Facebook page now has over 28,000 likes. There have been themed Pug Cafe’s for Christmas and Halloween and even a Daschund cafe!
